The Brotherhood of Merlin: Book Two – Lycenea

Merlin must expose the interloper & his sorceress before it’s too late.

Senator Herod secretly plots against his own country to take back the mines, but Merlin has no proof.

The Brotherhood of Merlin: Book Two – Lycenea: Merlin returns to his township of Lycenea, a hero, victorious over the tyrant King of Visi-Gaul, Jason. Unfortunately, his celebration is short-lived. Turmoil brews in the land. The interloper, Herod Antipaz, who manipulated Jason into invading Gilleon over mine rights, still plots against Gilleon. Merlin suspects who the interloper is but has no proof.

Merlin’s task of unmasking and exposing him is made even more difficult. Why? Herod is cloaked behind the powerful sorceress, Morgana. Together, they plot to eliminate the Brotherhood and usurp King Menelaeus.

Strategic Alliances with the Orks

As part of his plan, Herod attempts to ingratiate himself with the Orks. He most trusted henchman, Felinius, a disgraced former knight and from prison escapee, was sent to accomplish the task. Felinius proves himself calculating, cruel and formidable but he also has a sensitive and compassionate side. Will it prove to be his downfall?

While still seething over the unsuccessful attempt to eliminate Lucifer’s love child, Dante, Herod is hopeful when he learns the boy is close at hand. He’s a student in the Knight School in the town of Lycenea, the same school which rejected him from their ranks. So, Herod constructs a devious plan to isolate and kill the boy, leveraging Dante’s bitter rival, Maximus.

At times, Dante’s tribulations seem insurmountable. The attack that claimed the lives of his mother and sister also left him temporarily blind. He voluntarily thrusts himself into his new role as a recruit in knight school. Fifteen hundred other boys compete against him for what will be about a dozen spots as a Knight in the Republic, the most coveted position in Gilleon.

He’s understands should he fail and be dismissed from knight school, he is vulnerable to those who want him dead. His only choice is to survive the brutal training and avoid failure-at all costs. Besides, his life depends on it.
